Pull up a chair, sit right down and make yourself at home. Here at The Southern Oven, we take all the guess work out of a home cooked meal. Let us do all the work, and you take all the credit! All my life I have been surrounded by fabulous Southern cooks. So I am honored to bring what I have grown up eating right to your kitchen. The process is simple, just choose your casserole, order, and I will deliver it straight to you, tied up with cooking directions. Your job is to take it home, warm it up for your family and, most importantly, ENJOY!!

In Like a Lion....

Well, well, well...
If you live in North Georgia, you might agree that March came in like a Lion with our spring like thunderstorms yesterday, but that did not stop The Southern Oven from creating a delicious dinner for some sweet friends! Thanks for the order guys....you know who you are!

Today, March 1st, marks the offical kickoff of The Southern Oven. I would first like to say I apologize for leaving my faithful followers....all two of them ;) last week without a post at all! I promise not to let that happen again. I want to give y'all a detailed price list of my products offered and a tutorial, if you will, on the ordering process for our delectable dishes!

Ordering your casserole for dinner will be as easy as this:

1. Check this blog daily for specials and weekly menu options.

2. Send an email to southernoven@gmail.com with "ORDER" in the subject line. You will receive a confirmation email once we receive the email.

3. We will reply to your order email so that we can arrange a delivery method.

4. Right now we accept check, cash, and later today, there will be a pay pal link on the blog so that you may pay via credit card.

5. Please send your email by 3 p.m. (eastern time, of course) the DAY BEFORE you need your casserole. We here at The Southern Oven create only fresh dishes with no preservatives. So, for example, you need a casserole for Wednesday night, then you need to place your order with us no later than 3 p.m. Tuesday.

It is just that simple....I think, ha! Now, please bear with me here as I am learning this process so ordering procedures may change a little here and there, but rest assured that our food will remain as delicious and fresh as always!

Alright, now that we know how to order, here is the first official menu for the week and prices so you can decide what to order:

The Southern Oven: Weekly Menu 2/28/11 - 3/4/11

The Southern Oven's Original Chicken and Rice Casserole
(Fresh Chicken, rice with special seasonings, creamy sauce, sauteed red peppers and onions, cheese, all topped with a butter crumb crust)

Poppy Seed Chicken
(Fresh Chicken, creamy sauce, all topped with a butter crumb crust)
*Add wild rice to your casserole for a small fee

Shepard's Pie
(Fresh ground beef in a savory sauce with onions, topped with cream cheese whipped potatoes, all topped with freshly grated cheddar cheese and chives)

Chili Mac
(Fresh ground beef in a zesty chili tomato sauce with jumbo elbow macaroni, all topped with freshly grated cheddar cheese and scallions)

The Southern Oven's Grand Opening Price Specials:

Large (approximately 13x9, 8 servings) - $20.00, regular price $30.00 (3.33/per serving)

Medium (approximately 9x9, 4 servings) - 15.00, regular price $20.00 (3.50/per serving)

Small (approximately 9x7, 2 servings) - 12.00, regular price $15.00 (6.00/ per serving)
