Happy Monday Y'all!
I trust this finds everyone doing well on this fine Presidents Day. I had a very busy and fun weekend with my family, as I am sure you all did too. I presented my first free samples to the wonderful folks at Little Dreamers Academy on Friday afternoon. I pray that those were well received.
We are moving right along here at The Southern Oven and there are more samples coming this week and I will also be announcing order dates/deadlines and some other valuable information about my casserole creations.
So, I will make this Monday's post short and sweet, but please remember to keep your questions and comments coming! I will be talking with you all tomorrow and I will have my price lists out and reveal the location of my next batch of free samples.

It's a Beautiful Day....
Hey Y'all!
What a beautiful North Georgia day it has been. I have had quite a busy day taking my sweet baby Jack to his 6 month checkup....he is already 7 months old, but who's counting. As we mothers all know, it takes half a day to get one checkup done, so once we were through, off to the grocery store Jack and I went. I was busy purchasing items to create some yummy Southern Oven free samples.....I'm looking at you Little Dreamers Academy!
I also have been looking into what permits or licenses I need to operate this type of business. I will be doing some more homework in the coming days. I have also received some fantastic feedback on the blog from the nearest and dearest people in my life. I know I owe my newest followers and potential customers more information on my casserole creations. So here is a little more info:
There will be three (3) size casseroles available for purchase.
Small (approximately 9x7): Serves 2
Medium (approximately 9x9): Serves 3-4
Large (approximately 9x13): Serves 6-8
Now, if any of you are like the people in my house, Large will the best choice for a family of 4. This will allow for lunch the next day or a possible second dinner for another week night.
Now, y'all keep those great comments coming too! I will answer any question or concerns you might have about The Southern Oven. Right now, I have three anxious babies ready to head outside to enjoy this sunshine!

Here We Go.......
Hey Y'all!
My first blog post...ever.....
I could not be more excited to be bringing you my uh-oh's and yummy creations as the owner of The Southern Oven. Cooking is such a passion of mine. I enjoy it more than you know. So, after giving birth to my third child last summer, I began dreaming up this idea. What if I made yummy casseroles, and other one dish wonder meals, packaged them with cooking instructions, and delivered them to working families??? Would that work? Would they taste good? Would they sell? Well, folks, we are all about to find out!!!
Starting March 1st, I will be delivering said dishes to you at your office, home (if you are there to meet me), or other designated area for you to keep refrigerated until you head home from work, errands, or a busy day away. Simply follow the cooking instructions attached and you will have a scrumptious, home cooked meal for your family. No mess to your kitchen and for no more than what it costs to buy fast food.
This blog will serve as my behind the scenes look at how I run this home based business while taking care of three sweet children and one awesome husband.......this could get ugly......
Each week I will offer 2 chicken and 2 beef selections. See an example menu below:
The Southern Oven's Original Chicken And Rice Casserole
(fresh chicken, rice with special seasonings, creamy sauce, pimentos, shredded cheese, topped with a golden butter crumb crust)
Poppy Seed Chicken
(fresh chicken with a creamy poppy seed sauce, topped with a golden butter crumb crust)
Shepard's Pie
(fresh ground beef in a savory onion sauce topped with a layer of cream cheese whipped potatoes, all topped with freshly grated cheddar cheese)
Chili Mac
(fresh ground beef with zesty taco seasonings and onions, mixed with cooked macaroni noodles and topped with freshly grated cheese and scallions)
Alright, please check back with me every day so that you guys can get an update on when I will be taking orders and where I will be offering some free samples! Talk to you tomorrow!
