Pull up a chair, sit right down and make yourself at home. Here at The Southern Oven, we take all the guess work out of a home cooked meal. Let us do all the work, and you take all the credit! All my life I have been surrounded by fabulous Southern cooks. So I am honored to bring what I have grown up eating right to your kitchen. The process is simple, just choose your casserole, order, and I will deliver it straight to you, tied up with cooking directions. Your job is to take it home, warm it up for your family and, most importantly, ENJOY!!

Here We Go.......

Hey Y'all!
My first blog post...ever.....
I could not be more excited to be bringing you my uh-oh's and yummy creations as the owner of The Southern Oven.  Cooking is such a passion of mine.  I enjoy it more than you know.  So, after giving birth to my third child last summer, I began dreaming up this idea.  What if I made yummy casseroles, and other one dish wonder meals, packaged them with cooking instructions, and delivered them to working families???  Would that work? Would they taste good?  Would they sell?  Well, folks, we are all about to find out!!!

Starting March 1st, I will be delivering said dishes to you at your office, home (if you are there to meet me), or other designated area for you to keep refrigerated until you head home from work, errands, or a busy day away.  Simply follow the cooking instructions attached and you will have a scrumptious, home cooked meal for your family.  No mess to your kitchen and for no more than what it costs to buy fast food. 

This blog will serve as my behind the scenes look at how I run this home based business while taking care of three sweet children and one awesome husband.......this could get ugly......

Each week I will offer 2 chicken and 2 beef selections.  See an example menu below:

The Southern Oven's Original Chicken And Rice Casserole
(fresh chicken, rice with special seasonings, creamy sauce, pimentos, shredded cheese, topped with a golden butter crumb crust)

Poppy Seed Chicken
(fresh chicken with a creamy poppy seed sauce, topped with a golden butter crumb crust)

Shepard's Pie
(fresh ground beef in a savory onion sauce topped with a layer of  cream cheese whipped potatoes, all topped with freshly grated cheddar cheese)

Chili Mac
(fresh ground beef with zesty taco seasonings and onions, mixed with cooked macaroni noodles and topped with freshly grated cheese and scallions)
